How to restore a Graft wallet with MNEMONIC Password (your 25 word seed)

Now that you have your Graft wallet installed what happens if you lose access to it?
What if you would like to create a copy on another device?
What about the Windows or Linux Cli? (command line wallet)

During the initial procedure of creating your wallet you were required to copy down a 25 word phrase. Think of this as the key to your wallet if your phone or pc is lost! It contains the private and public and master key to your account  encrypted into these words. Do not share this to anyone.

If you have forgotten where you put your mnemonic phrase and  would like to view it. You can simply hit settings and click view mnemonic phrase. It will ask for your password. Then you will be able to see your mnemonic phrase!

This is like handing them your real life wallet full of the amount of funds that it contains. You can use this 25 word phrase to restore usage to any Graft wallet application. Whenever you Install the Gui! You will be presented with 2 options. “Create a New Wallet.” or “Restore wallet from 25 word Mnemonic seed”.  This is very straight-forward. Just type in your mnemonic phrase and enter a new password for the wallet!

However on the command line things are a bit different 🙂

The command line is a little different. When you launch the Gui it pulls the block-chains information and tells you how much is in your account. The Cli Requires you to download the entire block chain and you must first do this by clicking  Graftnoded.exe .

Once it is synched you can then launch Graft-wallet-cli.exe. This will launch your wallet.

I have created a pre-generated wallet for this purpose!

You can use this mnemonic phrase to test inputting a mnemonic phrase into the client

To restore your wallet via GRAFT CLI, you need to get the mnemonic phrase of your GRAFT wallet and run GRAFT CLI with the following options:

Linux/MacOS:
.//graft-wallet-cli –restore-deterministic-wallet –electrum-seed “people pencil amnesty jabbed gopher tutor template inbound
ardent gulp needed ungainly pause went both badge tasked glide pigment muddy gaze asked pistons richly glide”

Windows:
\graft-wallet-cli.exe –restore-deterministic-wallet –electrum-seed “people pencil amnesty jabbed gopher tutor template inbound
ardent gulp needed ungainly pause went both badge tasked glide pigment muddy gaze asked pistons richly glide

for anymore help you can run  graft-wallet-cli –help

I will use windows as an example
First create a text document and save it as graftrestoremneomicseed.bat to creat a batch file with the above argument!

graft-wallet-cli.exe –restore-deterministic-wallet –electrum-seed “people pencil amnesty jabbed gopher tutor template inbound
ardent gulp needed ungainly pause went both badge tasked glide pigment muddy gaze asked pistons richly glide

you then put this batch file beside graft-wallet-cli

Then simply run the batch file to restore your wallet! It will ask for a new wallet name and password as well as your language!

It will then create your files containing your address. With this specific mnemonic phrase it will generate the address

you can then login to your restored wallet!

How do I get a Graft (GRF) Wallet address?

At this moment, there is no Graft Wallet app for Windows users, but you can easily set up a wallet using a mobile application in your phone.

Android Mobile Wallet: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.graft.wallet

iOS Mobile Wallet: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/graft-wallet/id1287103848?mt=8

and open Graft Wallet APP and following:

You need to choose MAINNET.

Your next step is to enter the password for your new wallet. Choose something strong, as you need to protect your funds.

Only after the password is entered, push Create New Wallet button.

The next screen will give you a mnemonic phrase – this is the unique random set of wards you will need to enter when you want to access your wallet on another device (Windows, Linux or another phone). You will need to copy and save it in some secure place. (Never share your mnemonic phrase like we did, anyone can steel your wallet with it).

To save the mnemonic phrase, hit Copy to Clipboard button and save it in some secure place, like password protected Evernote or something.

Only after you saved the mnemonic phrase, hit I Save It button.

Your wallet is created, however, you need to have your wallet address, that you will use to put your Graft coins to.

Click on Main Balance now and you will see a huge set of letters and numbers, THIS IS YOUR WALLET address.

Now Hit Copy to clipboard button again, and save it to some app. I used Evernote, as I have access to it from Windows and you will need it to start mining.

Feel free to share your wallet address with anyone, as the only thing people can do with it is to send you some Graft coins.
